But who else remembers their first pair of Chucks? Was this just an emo thing?
My first pair were so disgusting and ratty that my mom threw them out. I bought another pair when I was a freshman in college, and the shoelaces are so dirty they're grey. It never dawned on my to even wash them. Are you supposed to? Also, my friends & I doodled all over the soles of the shoes. They're close to 10 years old now, and I broke them out last winter when we vacationed in Florida. They were just as comfortable as I remember them :)
They're like a walking time capsule.
Anyone else have a pair shoes they won't give up?

Totally not an emo thing! Chucks have been around forever. I think my dad played basketball in them and they were certainly popular in the eighties and them again in the nineties. I think they've officially achieved classic status!
